Anti-Bcl-2 Antibody (Monoclonal, Bcl-2-100)

  • Background: Immunoreactive BCL2 protein in the neoplastic cells of almost all follicular lymphomas whereas no BCL2 protein was detected in follicles affected by nonneoplastic processes or in normal lymphoid tissue. Every tumor with molecular-genetic evidence of t (14;18) translocation expressed detectable levels of BCL2 protein, regardless of whether the breakpoint was located in or at a distance from the BCL2 gene. Overexpression of BCL2 blocks the apoptotic death of a pro-B-lymphocyte cell line.
  • Description: Boster Bio Anti-Bcl-2 Antibody (Monoclonal, Bcl-2-100) catalog # MA1004. Tested in IHC, ICC, WB applications. This antibody reacts with Human.
  • Synonyms: Apoptosis regulator Bcl-2;Bcl2;Bcl-2;
  • CAS Number: 9007-83-4
  • Gene Name: Apoptosis regulator Bcl-2
  • Gene ID: Human(596), Mouse(12043), Rat(24224)
  • UniProt: P49950
  • Host: Mouse
  • Reactivity: Human
  • Cross Reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins
  • Immunogen: Synthetic peptide corresponding to residues 41-54 of the bcl-2 protein, conjugated to thyroglobulin.
  • Clonality: Monoclonal
  • Clone: Clone: Bcl-2-100
  • Tissue Specificity: Expressed in a variety of tissues, with highest levels in reproductive tissues. In the adult brain, expression is localized in mitral cells of the olfactory bulb, granule and pyramidal neurons of hippocampus, pontine nuclei, cerebellar granule neurons, and in ependymal cells. In prenatal brain, expression is higher and localized in the neuroepithelium and in the cortical plate.
  • Applications: IHC,ICC,WB
  • Purification: Ascites
  • Concentration: Adding 1 ml of PBS buffer will yield a concentration of 100 μg/ml.
  • Form: Lyophilized
  • Reconstitution: Add 1ml of PBS buffer will yield a concentration of 100ug/ml.
  • Function: Suppresses apoptosis in a variety of cell systems including factor-dependent lymphohematopoietic and neural cells. Regulates cell death by controlling the mitochondrial membrane permeability. Appears to function in a feedback loop system with caspases. Inhibits caspase activity either by preventing the release of cytochrome c from the mitochondria and/or by binding to the apoptosis-activating factor (APAF-1). May attenuate inflammation by impairing NLRP1-inflammasome activation, hence CASP1 activation and IL1B release (By similarity). .
  • Components: Mouse ascites fluid, 1.2% sodium acetate, 2mg BSA, with 0.01mg NaN3 as preservative.
