GHRP-1, or Ala-His-D-beta Nal-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH2, has the effect of promoting the release of growth hormone (GH). GHRP-1 increases GH release and increases [Ca2+]i levels in static monolayer cells of rat pituitary gland, but does not affect cAMP levels[1].
