Recombinant Human Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein

  • Description: Recombinant Human Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein
  • Product Name Alternative: MOG
  • CAS Number: 9000-83-3
  • Gene Name: MOG
  • UniProt: Q16653
  • Cellular Locus: [Isoform 1]: Cell membrane , Multi-pass membrane protein , Multi-pass membrane protein , Single-pass type I membrane protein , Single-pass type I membrane protein , Single-pass type I membrane protein , Single-pass type I membrane protein , Single-pass type I membrane protein , Single-pass type I membrane protein , Single-pass type I membrane protein
  • Reactivity: Human
  • Target Antigen: Myelin-oligodendrocyte glycoprotein
  • Target: Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein
  • Type: Protein
  • Applications: WB
  • Dilution: Reconstitute lyophilized MOG in sterile 10mM acetic acid to no less than 100ug/ml which can be further diluted in other aqueous solutions as needed.
  • Form: Lyophilized
  • Function: Mediates homophilic cell-cell adhesion (By similarity). Minor component of the myelin sheath. May be involved in completion and/or maintenance of the myelin sheath and in cell-cell communication. {PubMed:21880773}.
  • Storage Conditions: Although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, the lyophilized product is best stored at or below -20°C. Upon reconstitution, product can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week but is best stored at or below -20°C for longer periods of time. Addition of a carrier protein (such as 0.1% HSA or BSA) is recommended for long- term storage.
  • Specificity: Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein
  • Formulation: Reconstitute lyophilized MOG in sterile 50mM acetic acid to no less than 100ug/ml which can be further diluted in other aqueous solutions as needed.
  • Target Background: Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein (MOG) is a membrane protein expressed on the oligodendrocyte cell surface and the outermost surface of myelin sheaths. Given its localization, it is a prime target antigen of immune-mediated demyelination. MOG is involved in completion and maintenance of the myelin sheath and in cell-cell communication. MOG is differentially expressed in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and in the temporal lobe from patients with schizophrenia.
