Unless indicated otherwise, all products below
are supplied per vial in 50 ml 50 mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.0
buffer containing 14 mM b-mercaptoethanol, 1 mM
benzamidine, 0.1 mM PMSF, 1 mM EDTA, 50% glycerol, except that, for AK, 65%
ethyleneglycol is included instead of glycerol, and the buffer also contains
0.1% Brij-35. Maintain all preparations at -70°C. Avoid repeated thawing. One
unit of protein kinase is the amount of the enzyme that incorporates 1 nmol of
phosphoryl groups into the indicated substrate per min. For ordering

AK; Auto-Activated Protein Kinase
GLO111 (10 ml, 50 ng, $285)
Scarce enzyme which undergoes rapid autophosphorylation and dramatic
(15-30-fold) activation. The enzyme phosphorylates and inactivates PP2A
(GLO130-132, protein
phosphatases). AK is involved in cytoskeleton organization and other
signal transduction processes. The purified preparations appear related to the
catalytic domain of p21-activated p65PAK protein kinase (GLO116,
this page), and is produced in cells undergoing apoptosis via a
caspase-dependent pathway. Source bovine kidney. Purity > 90% by SDS-PAGE.

CK-2; Casein Kinase-2
GLO112 (1 mg, $285)
A tetrameric protein serine/threonine kinase that is ubiquitously distributed
in eukaryotes. CK-2 is an important component of signaling pathways, controls
the growth and division of cells, and regulates the activity of a variety of
regulatory nuclear proteins including oncoproteins and transcription factors,
as well as enzymes involved in metabolism. Source bovine kidney. Purity >

p65PAK; p21-Activated Protein Kinase
GLO116 (100 ng, $285)
The p21-activated p65PAK protein kinase is involved in cytoskeleton
organization, apoptosis and signal transduction processes. The enzyme has been
found associated with PP2A (GLO130-132, protein
phosphatases) and ribosomal protein S6 kinase. The catalytic domain of the
enzyme is produced in apoptotic cells via a caspase-dependent pathway
and does not require rac and cdc42 (GLO128, modulator
proteins) for activity. Source recombinant human. Purity ~ 10% by SDS-PAGE.
