CD45 Leukocyte Common Antigen (LCA)
Clone: 2b11 & PD7/26 Isotype: IgG1 Kappa

The SIGNET monoclonal antibody preparation of clones 2B11 & PD7/26 react with the Leukocyte Common Antigen (LCA), a molecule present on the cell surface of human leukocytes. Specifically, 2B11 shows reactivity with four LCA chains of molecular weight 180, 190, 205, and 220 kD. However, it is not designated a CD45 antibody. PD7/26/16 reacts with three chains of molecular weight 190, 205, and 220 kD, and is designated as a CD45RB antibody. Lymphocytes and neoplastic cells derived from lymphocytes stain with the greatest intensity. Reactivity of macrophages, granulocytes, and plasma cells is variable. Sinus histiocytes are negative, as is the parenchyma of nonlymphoid tissue.

Pathologic tissue of non-Hodgkins lymphoma and lymphocytic leukemia demonstrate diffuse, strong staining with this antibody. Staining results with multiple myeloma are negative. No reactivity with carcinoids, sarcomas, melanomas, germ cell tumors or other neoplastic tissue of nonlymphoid origin has been observed. LCA is of particular value in the distinction of undifferentiated carcinoma, sarcoma or melanoma from malignant lymphoma.
