GRANULOCYTE MACROPHAGE COLONY STIMULATING FACTOR

Granulocyte Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor (GM-CSF) is a potent species specific stimulator of bone marrow cells. GM-CSF stimulates precursor cells of granulocytes, macrophages and eosinophils. Human GM-CSF is a 14 kDa protein containing 128 amino acid residues.

Purity: >98% by SDS-Page analysis. Endotoxin level is less than 0.1ng per ug of GM-CSF.

Reconstitution: The lyophilized GM-CSF is soluble in water and most aqueous buffers. The lyophilized powder should be reconstituted in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Allow to set at least 30 minutes at 4 Deg C, rotate, mix well. If desired, centrifuge for 1-2 minutes at 500- 1000 rpm to concentrate material in vial.This solution can be diluted into other buffered solutions or stored at 4 DEG C for up to 1 week or at -20 DEG C for future use. For most in-vitro applications, human GM-CSF exerts its biological activity in the concentration range of 0.05 to 0.5 ng/ml.

Note: For material that will not be used for coating or labelling (or other applications requiring carrier free material), we recommend adding 0.1% protease free BSA/HSA or media to any dilution buffers. Maintain stock >10ug/ml.

Storage: The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature for a few weeks, is best stored dessicated at -20 DEG C. Reconstituted GM-CSF should be stored in working aliquots at -20 DEG C. Avoid Frequent Freeze-THAW Cycles.

Reactivity: The Ed50 as determined by the dose dependent stimulation of the proliferation of human TF-1 cells is <0.1ng/ml, which corresponds to a specific activity of > 1 X 10 E07 units/mg.
